1.
Oh, the stories The stories that you told Of being young And slowly getting old It makes you afraid, But it happens every day You were my shade In a world with a thousand suns You couldn’t stay It was everything or none I was destined to lose When you had to choose It’s easy to have a better half When you feel no good at all It’s easy just to lay on down Once you’ve had a fall You treat me like I’m crazy You must think be to be a fool I never played your games, Yet somehow broke the rules When you want me Just grab me off the shelf Right where you left me When you had me to yourself Just blow the dust off my face And put me back in my place

Kingdom Come 04:32
I don't understand the heart of a man Who takes without a cause Maybe it's just to prove That we've got something to lose Or to show the world his flaws So I'll hide the truth right in my heart So I can tell the world apart From fallen man and kingdom come. This place is my home It's built of my bones, And its roots grow far in time And tragedy seeks homes far beyond me, But I never thought it would be mine. So I'll hide the truth right in my heart So I can tell the world apart From fallen man and kingdom come.

Between a humble sense of life And the possibilities I could take this world And fill it with my dreams As I stand loosely on the ground Telling my young self that stars are at my feet I am torn between what was and what might be Like a page that has been ripped from a beautiful story In my mind I always try to write the rest I breathe one day through the next And through them recollect The things that a younger me once learned If I knew the things that I know now I would tell myself to make each day a start I am torn between what was and what might be Like a page that has been ripped from a beautiful story In my mind I always try to write the rest

about

Southerner is:
Austin Lord
Mitch Schneider
Sam Jennings

Deeply rooted in the essence of singer/songwriter culture, but with the depth and structure of a full band, Southerner’s debut EP stretches the boundaries of what many would consider acoustic and folk music. Airy dispositions and soft moments of silence are coupled with beautiful artistry in both lyrical content and instrumentation. These three songs are a perfect representation of what Southerner aims to be - heavily focused on an intricate singer/songwriter foundation, but toying with the joys and climaxes of modern post-rock.
